The LSN is available for search and retrieval by users seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year. The LSN search and retrieval
capability is available even while the system is "spidering" participant
collections, and while the LSN indexes are undergoing backup. However,
users may notice a performance degradation during the daily processing cycle (including
"spidering", auditing, backups, maintenance, etc.),
which is scheduled between the hours of 12:00 am (midnight) and 6:00 a.m. Eastern time (ET).
There may be occasions when one or more participant LSN web sites are
unavailable, while at the same time the LSN and other participant web sites
are available. This could occur for any number of reasons outside of the
control of the LSNA or the participants. Similarly, regional communications
difficulties could impact a particular participant’s ability to access other
participants’ LSN web sites through the Internet.
Each participant will provide a schedule of how often it is expected to
update its LSN collection (e.g., new documents are to be added every
Wednesday). Once developed, each participant’s schedule will be posted on
this page.
