American Kidney Fund
The American Kidney Fund is a national nonprofit organization providing direct financial assistance, educational programs and research grants for the benefit of kidney patients, their families and their caregivers.  The Public education program includes organ donor development and AKF is a member of the Coalition on Donation.

American Liver Foundation
The American Liver Foundation is a national voluntary organization dedicated to preventing, treating, and curing hepatitis and other liver and gallbladder diseases through research and education.

American Lung Association
The American Lung Association’s mission is to prevent lung disease and promote lung health.

American Medical Association
The American Medical Association believes that transplantable organs and tissues are a national resource, and has long recognized the importance of raising public awareness about the need for organ and tissue donation. To that end, the AMA has been involved in various initiatives in collaboration with other organizations to promote organ donation among its membership and the general public.

Association of Organ Procurement Organizations
The Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) is a private, nonprofit organization representing the 58 U.S. Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs). OPOs evaluate potential donors, discuss donation with family members, arrange for the surgical removal, preservation and distribution of donated organs. AOPO works to maximize the availability of organs and tissues and enhance the quality, effectiveness and integrity of the donation process.

Coalition on Donation
The Coalition on Donation is a non-profit alliance of major professional, patient, health, science, transplant and voluntary organizations. Its purpose is to increase public awareness of organ and tissue donation, correct misconceptions about donation, and increase willingness to donate.

Division of Transplantation, Office of Special Programs, Health Resources and Services Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
The Division of Transplantation’s principle responsibilities include the management of the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network, the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients, and the National Marrow Donor Program contracts, public education to increase organ donation and technical assistance to organ procurement organizations.

National Kidney Foundation/National Donor Family Council  The National Donor Family Council supports the needs and expectations of all organ and tissue donor families and assists the health care professionals who work most closely with these families.

The National Marrow Donor Program aims to establish, maintain and improve a system that provides bone marrow transplants from volunteer unrelated donors for patients with leukemia and other life threatening blood diseases.

Transplant Recipients International Organization, Inc, (TRIO) is an independent, non-profit, international organization, working to improve the quality of life of transplant candidates, recipients, donors, and their families. Through the TRIO headquarters and a network of chapters and members-at-large, TRIO serves its members in the areas of donor awareness, support, education, and advocacy.

United Network for Organ Sharing
The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) is a non-profit organization that was awarded the contract by the Department of Health and Human Services to operate the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network and to develop a national system to assure equal access for all patients needing organs for transplantation.

University Renal Research and Education Association
The University Renal Research and Education Association (URREA) is a not-for-profit organization established for the purpose of collecting information and conducting worldwide epidemiologic, clinical, and economic studies of kidney and related diseases. URREA's mission is to improve care for renal patients by conducting and distributing research focused on improving renal patient care and providing analysis and research training opportunities for medical professionals.
