Solicitation Closing Date:
  August 2, 2004

The DLA Training Center (DTC) is soliciting nominations for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2005 DLA Professional Enhancement Program (PEP).  The purpose of the Program is to develop high potential employees, increase knowledge and/or skills, broaden the participant’s insight into the Defense Logistics Agency’s (DLA) mission and functions, and develop enterprise perspectives.  The PEP accomplishes this through experiential rotational assignments throughout DLA, which improve the knowledge and capability of the DLA workforce.

DLA employees in grades GS-12 through GS/GM-15 are eligible to apply for PEP.  Assignments range in length from 6 to 12 months and will begin on a mutually agreed upon date between management and the participant.  Most assignments will begin in early January 2005.   Individuals must select an assignment(s) from an organization/activity other than their own. Selections for PEP participation will be made by the DLA Executive Resources Board and are subject to availability of centralized funding.

Individuals who are selected to participate in PEP remain employees of their parent organization and return to their parent organization upon completion of the Program.  Participant salary will remain the responsibility of the parent organization.  Travel to the assignment site, per diem rate at the long-term travel rate during the assignment, and return travel at the end of the assignment are centrally funded and managed by the DTC.  Individuals may apply for up to two assignments.

Eligible DLA employees who wish to be considered for PEP must submit their nomination application package through their chain-of-command to DTC no later than Monday, August 2, 2004, at the following mailing address:  Defense Logistics Agency, ATTN: Ms. Patricia Proctor (DTC), 8725 John J. Kingman Road, STOP 6231, Fort Belvoir, VA  22060-6221.  Nomination packages may also be hand-carried to room 1559 within the Headquarters Complex.
