    This application kit advertises solicitations for several programs that support efforts to serve crime victims. Highlights include the development of state victim assistance academies; partnerships between victim assistance and faith-based organizations; services for crime victims in urban neighborhoods; services for crime victims provided by law enforcement in rural areas; and improvements in a community's response to victims with physical and intellectual disabilities.

    State and local law enforcement agencies and prosecutors' offices will propose innovative strategies for addressing emerging or chronic money laundering issues within their jurisdictions.

  • Grants to State Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Coalitions Program. (Deadline to submit applications: June 13, 2002 (9:30 pm EDT). Applicants who have never registered with the Grants Management System (GMS) must register on-line for a GMS user identification and password by May 30. Applicants who have previously registered with GMS and have a GMS password should log on to GMS by May 30.   • State Justice Statistics Program for Statistical Analysis Center: Program Application Guidelines Fiscal Year 2002 contains application information and guidelines for the State Justice Statistics Program fo Statistical Analysis Centers (SACs).     Reentry Program The Going Home: Serious and Violent Offender Reentry Initiative addresses the challenges presented when more than 630,000 people are released from incarceration yearly and arrive on the doorsteps of communities nationwide. The Department of Justice through the Office of Justice Programs and the National Institute of Corrections, and the U.S. Departments of Labor, Education, Housing and Urban Development, and Health and Human Services offers discretionary funding and technical assistance to communities as they help ex-offenders make a plan to go home.   • Juvenile Mentoring Program (JUMP) FY 2002 Discretionary Program Announcement (PDF) JUMP supports one-to-one mentoring projects for youth at risk of failing in school, dropping out of school, or becoming involved in delinquent behavior, including gang activity and substance abuse. OJJDP invites eligible applicants who are interested in developing and sustaining effective mentoring programs for at-risk youth to respond to the solicitation for JUMP. Deadline: March 25, 2002.

  • 2001 Civil Justice Survey of State Courts Solicitation (BJS) (July 2001) (Deadline: September 14, 2001) The purpose of this award is to provide funding to administer the 2001 Civil Justice Survey of State Courts. The survey will collect information on tort, contract, and real property rights cases disposed of by jury or bench trial in State courts of general jurisdiction in 45 counties chosen to represent the Nation's 75 most populous counties.

  • The deadline for applications to the Young Offender Initiative: Reentry Grant Program has been extended to Tuesday, October 9th. Applications must be received by the Office of Justice Programs no later than 5:30 pm. This extension will not delay the award process.
