  • Conference: Local Response to Terrorism: Lessons Learned from the 9-11 Attack on the Pentagon, July 28-30, 2003

Local Response to Terrorism banner (Brochure: PDF and On-line Registration) On September 11, 2001, Arlington County, aided by emergency response forces from surrounding Federal, State, and local agencies, responded to an unprovoked terrorist attack on the Pentagon. The story of that response, which is detailed in the Arlington County After-Action Report on the Response to the September 11 Terrorist Attack on the Pentagon published in July 2002, has generated significant national interest and multiple requests for additional briefings on what happened that morning and the days that followed. Sponsored jointly by Arlington County, the Office for Domestic Preparedness, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and professional organizations, this conference focuses on what local emergency response teams must do to plan for, coordinate, and execute a successful response.
  • On line registration is now available for the Annual Conference on Criminal Justice Research and Evaluation, scheduled for July 21-24, 2002 in Washington, DC. Go to NIJ's Professional Conference Series Web site for the conference schedule, hotel information, and online registration.
