WASHINGTON – The General Services Administration (GSA), in conjunction with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), today announced a Request for Information (RFI) has been issued to accelerate the effort of a government-wide analysis of three lines of business to expand electronic government, in support of the President’s Management Agenda.

The RFI, issued yesterday, seeks information related to governmentwide business consolidation efforts in each line of business (LOB) as follows: Financial management, human resources and grants management. The objectives are to establish common solutions implemented through target architecture and to increase efficiency throughout the federal government, while reducing costs.

The common solutions should include best practices for enterprise transformation, business process changes, technology innovation, key system interfaces and migration strategies.

“The RFI allows for transparency and partnership for the LOB effort to ensure all interested parties both government and industry have an opportunity to work with us to create solutions while saving taxpayers’ dollars” stated Karen Evans, Administrator for E- Government and Information Technology. Though not part of the RFI, federal health architecture and case management LOBs are accelerating their analyses for common solutions

GSA will host “Government and Industry Day,” Wednesday, April 21, 1 to 3:30 p.m., at the Jury’s Hotel in Northwest Washington. Panel members from participating agencies will present an overview of each line of business and respond to questions. R.S.V.P. by Monday to lobv@gsa.gov.
