About BankNet
National BankNet is a revolutionary new system that allows the OCC to communicate with and deliver data-based services, via the Internet, to the financial institutions it regulates. This secure, extranet site is designed to meet each bank's specific needs. It accommodates a bank's real-time decision making, improves two-way communications between the bank and the OCC, and delivers products and services that will enhance the value of every franchise in the national system. National BankNet is available exclusively to national banks.

National BankNet delivers value in four areas:

  • Banker Resources -- Up-to-date information, regularly refreshed, on topics of interest. Offerings include "best practices" presentations, OCC training opportunities available to bankers, and the latest economic and risk analysis material.
  • Communications -- A user-friendly mechanism for national banks to send and receive secure messages from the OCC. On-line presentations, on-line chats, and live video broadcasts planned for the future will further expand the range of communications.
  • Applications and Reports -- Efficient and secure transfer of bank data and payment information that once required banks to depend on standard forms/applications. A future application which will streamline this task is on-line corporate applications.
  • Bank Analysis Tools -- User-friendly financial models to assist national banks to function more effectively in today's highly competitive financial services environment. These models typically offer an efficient and cost-free way for national bankers to analyze their institutions' performance from a competitive, profitability, risk, or regulatory perspective.
