TSA is conducting Privacy Impact Assessments to outline how certain programs will impact the privacy of affected individuals and what steps TSA is taking to minimize that impact.

the President signed into law the Aviation and Transportation Security Act (ATSA)
which among other things established a new Transportation Security Administration (TSA) within the Department of Transportation. This Act established a series of challenging but critically important milestones toward achieving a secure air travel system.
