FEMA Region IX recently relocated its offices from the Presidio
of San Francisco to City Center in Oakland, Calif. The new building
at 1111 Broadway meets FEMA requirements for security, public
transportation and earthquake resistant engineering. |
FEMA Region IX crosses eight time zones and the International Date Line. The day starts in Guam and ends in American Samoa, both served by Region IX. The main office in Oakland and the Pacific Area office in Hawaii, along with a staff of more than 80 permanent full-time employees and a cadre of approximately 300 on-call Disaster Assistance Employees, are available to support FEMA activities during a Presidential Disaster Declaration.
