Description

This Program Announcement with set-aside funds (PAS) invites applications proposing clinical and translational research in multiple sclerosis (MS) and targeting the neurodegenerative aspect of this disease. It is not intended to solicit proposals in basic neuroscience or glial biology. Rather, applications responsive to this PAS will apply ideas, insights, and discoveries generated through basic scientific inquiry to the treatment of MS and will have an emphasis on activities directly focused on the development of neuroprotective and regenerative therapies for MS. Applications testing novel therapeutic interventions in animal models or in in vitro systems are encouraged as are applications for the development of technologies that would facilitate the monitoring of their efficacy. Clinical trials and interventions in MS patients are not covered by this PAS and applicants are directed to instead use the funding mechanisms and opportunities listed at http!
