Overview
 
The High End Computing (HEC) Program Component Area (PCA) concentrates on Research and Development dedicated to maintaining and expanding U.S. leadership in high-performance computing, which includes advances in hardware, software, architecture, and application systems. HEC research explores advanced concepts in quantum, biological, and optical computing that will keep the U.S. in the forefront of computing breakthroughs through its hardware and software innovations; algorithms for physical, chemical, and biological modeling and simulation of these processes in complex systems; and information-intensive science and engineering applications.
