Robert C. Bonner - Commissioner, U.S. Customs and Border Protection
Robert C. Bonner was nominated by President George W. Bush to serve as Commissioner of the United States Customs Service on June 24, 2001. He was sworn in as the 17th Commissioner of U.S. Customs on September 24, 2001. Since March 1, 2003, he has served as the first Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the agency of the Department of Homeland Security responsible for managing, controlling and securing our Nation's borders.
