Study/Training tour of the US National Weather Service and Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) of Poland.

The IAO:

  • Coordinates and monitors bilateral agreements for cooperation in meteorology and hydrology between the United States and other countries

The IAO:

  • Supports the Permanent Representative (PR) of the United States to the World Meteorological Organization of the United Nations

The IAO:

  • Supports the transfer of NWS technologies to countries worldwide to advance the capabilities of foreign governments in meteorology and hydrology

The IAO:

  • Provides administrative support for international travel for all NWS employees
  • Administers the Department of State’s J1 visa program for visiting foreign research scholars
  • Serves as the focal point for international visitors to NWS facilities nationwide
