Q: | |||||||||||||||
A: |
There are two ways to identify publications on topics of interest to you.
|
||||||||||||||
Q: | How can I locate a description of publications in my search results?
A: | After you conduct a search, the ordering system will show you
the titles of publications retrieved on Search Results
page. Click on the title or on Description to read a brief
description of the publication. Some publications can be viewed
online via a link to another part of the NCI web site. Click on
View to review the full publication. Use your browser's "back"
button to return to your Search Results.

Q: | What can I do if NCI Publications Locator does not provide the information I am looking for?

are in the U.S. and its territories, and select the option to order publications.

The system will remind you if there are quantity limits on any of the publications.

Q: | Is there a charge for ordering NCI materials?
A: |
National Cancer Institute (NCI) publications are free. However, there is a
shipping and handling fee of 10 cents per copy for orders over 20 items
(bulk orders). To cover the basic accounting costs associated with processing
payments for bulk orders, NCI requires a $5.00 minimum charge. A discount is
applied for orders of 100 or more items. Bulk orders placed on NCIPL must be paid by credit card.
To discuss alternative payment methods, contact the Cancer Information Service at 1-800-4-CANCER (1-800-422-6237)
and select the option to order publications.

subject to copyright restrictions when they are produced by Government employees.
However, most NCI materials are developed by private sector writers, designers,
photographers, and illustrators under contract to the Government. The copyright for these

Q: | What is a "U.S. address"?
A: |
"U.S. addresses" include Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa and APO/FPO addresses.
|
||||||||||||||
Q: | Why am I supposed to enter my ZIP Code first when I provide my shipping information?
A: |
To ensure accurate addressing and the fastest possible delivery of packages,
this Web site verifies city, state, and ZIP Code combinations against a
database provided by the US Postal Service (USPS). When you enter your ZIP Code,
the city name and state will automatically fill in based on the USPS database.
If more than one city name is associated with the ZIP Code, the city name defined
as the “default” by the USPS will appear in the city name field.
Other valid city names can be selected from the list that appears below the defaulted city name.
This Web site will not accept city, state, and ZIP Code combinations that are not considered valid by the USPS.
