Q:

How can I find the publications I would like to order?

A:  There are two ways to identify publications on topics of interest to you.
  1. View a list of publications by choosing one of the categories on the Welcome page: types of cancer, treatment options, clinical trials, genetics, coping with cancer, testing for cancer, and risk factors/causes and prevention.
  2. Choose Search for publications on the Welcome page. You will go to the Search for Publications page. If you have a particular topic or topics in mind, type one or more keywords in the Search by Keyword(s) box. Or, you may narrow your search by entering a selection in one or more of the categories: type of cancer, subject, audience, language. Simply click on the arrow at the right edge of the box beside the search category. When the list of options pops up, use your mouse to highlight and click on the topic that interests you. You can select only one option within each category (for example, select "breast" or "prostate" as the type of cancer, but not both). By employing two or more search categories (for example, “breast” as the type of cancer and “treatment options” as the subject), you may narrow your search results.

Q:  How can I locate a description of publications in my search results?
A:  After you conduct a search, the ordering system will show you the titles of publications retrieved on Search Results page. Click on the title or on Description to read a brief description of the publication. Some publications can be viewed online via a link to another part of the NCI web site. Click on View to review the full publication. Use your browser's "back" button to return to your Search Results.

Q:  Why am I supposed to enter my ZIP Code first when I provide my shipping information?
A:

To ensure accurate addressing and the fastest possible delivery of packages, this Web site verifies city, state, and ZIP Code combinations against a database provided by the US Postal Service (USPS). When you enter your ZIP Code, the city name and state will automatically fill in based on the USPS database. If more than one city name is associated with the ZIP Code, the city name defined as the “default” by the USPS will appear in the city name field. Other valid city names can be selected from the list that appears below the defaulted city name. This Web site will not accept city, state, and ZIP Code combinations that are not considered valid by the USPS.
