Now's the Time to Get a Flu Vaccine

Priority groups for flu vaccination are:

  • All children aged 6 months-23 months
  • Adults aged 65 and older
  • Persons aged 2 to 64 with underlying chronic medical conditions
  • All women pregnant during influenza season
  • Residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities
  • Children aged 6 months to 18 years of age on chronic aspirin therapy
  • Health care workers with direct patient care
  • Out-of-home caregivers and household contacts of children aged younger than 6 months

We need people who are not in the priority groups to forgo or defer getting a flu vaccination so it can go to someone more vulnerable to complications from the flu.
