Duties:
The incumbent is the senior analyst responsible for research, analysis, and production of Force Protection, Counterintelligence (CI), and intelligence data and information. Conducts basic research on specific IC issues. Designs and initiates studies or reports of irregularities observed during the performance of mission personnel duties. Coordinates pertinent information closely with Directorates, Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. CI and intelligence agencies. Identifies potential trends based on knowledge of foreign intelligence services’ methods of operation and domestic and foreign threats. Organizes and completes CI research projects. May be responsible for conducting briefing and debriefings of DTRA personnel and providing current intelligence support. The focus is current/near-term events, developments and trends pertaining to: force protection (to include threats relating to terrorism, crime, security, health, and environment), counterintelligence, and other intelligence information.

Requirements:

You must possess 52 weeks of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the next lower grade level that has equipped you with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position shown above. Examples of creditable specialized experience include: Skill in developing written materials, conducting briefings, or leading discussions with high-level officials and in interpersonal interactions with high-level Government staffs. Skill in threat trends(to inclued terrorism, crime, security, health, and environment) to accurately assess potential threats.

Knowledges, skills, and abilities are those that demonstrate performance of the duties and responsibilities as outlined above.

Requirements:

This position is designated critical sensitive, as defined in DoD 5200.2-R and therefore requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated for security eligibility on a preappointment basis. This requirement may take 120 days or longer to process.

All tentative selectees for this position will be required to undergo a urinalysis test to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.

This recruitment provides promotion opportunity to the target position without further competition when selectee is eligible and recommended by management. However, promotion is not guaranteed and no promise of a promotion is implied.

TDY is required.

Permanent change of station funds will not be authorized.

Selection for this position is contingent upon proof of U.S. citizenship.

Applicants must be eligible for a TOP SECRET clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

This position is subject to the DoD Drug Free Workplace Program. If a determination of the use of illegal drugs is confirmed in this position or other testing designated positions in OSD or WHS, non-selection or disciplinary action, up to and including removal from Federal service, may result. The Defense Authorization Act of November 18, 1997

The Defense Authorization Act of November 18, 1997, extended veterans' preference to persons who served on active duty during the Gulf War from August 2, 1990, through January 2, 1992. The law grants preference to persons otherwise eligible and who served on active duty during this period, regardless of where the person served or for how long. The law also authorizes the Secretary of each military department to award the Armed Force Expeditionary Medal for service in Bosnia during the period November 20, 1995, to a date to be determined. The award of the Medal is qualifying for veterans' preference. Voluntary Separation Incentive Pay (VSIP)

Former Federal employees who return to work for the government after receiving Voluntary Separation Incentive Pay (VSIP) are normally required to repay an amount equal to the VSIP amount received, including Federal taxes that were withheld. This requirement remains in effect for five years after separation. Upon acceptance of a tentative offer, submission of a copy of the separation SF-50 will be required.
