Advisory Boards and Groups

National Advisory Mental Health Council
The National Advisory Mental Health Council (NAMHC) advises the Secretary of Health and Human Services, the Director of the National Institutes of Health, and the Director of the National Institute of Mental Health on all policies and activities relating to the conduct and support of mental health research, research training, and other programs of the Institute. more>>

Peer Review Committees
The peer review committees perform the first level of scientific and technical review of grant applications, cooperative agreements, and contract proposals for research and research training activities that focus on the scientific areas relevant to mental health, mental disorders, treatment interventions and services. more>>

Board of Scientific Counselors
The Board of Scientific Counselors (BSC) provides the scientific and technical peer review of the intramural research at the NIMH. They review and evaluate the NIMH laboratories to assess the research programs in progress, the proposed research, and the productivity and performance of individual staff scientists. more>>
