Intellectual Property Rights
U.S. Customs and Border Protection maintains an aggressive IPR enforcement program which devotes substantial resources to target, intercept, detain, seize and forfeit shipments of IPR-violative goods. Our enforcement is accomplished through the cooperative efforts of our trained enforcement officers, other government agencies, and the trade community.

- Intellectual Property Rights Search (IPRS)
IPR data, formerly available via the Customs Electronic Bulletin Board (CEBB), has been migrated to the Intellectual Property Rights Search application (IPRS). IPRS is a searchable database containing public versions of U.S. Customs and Border Protection intellectual property rights recordations.

arrowU.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) IPR Enforcement
CBP devotes substantial resources to target, intercept, detain, seize and forfeit shipments of IPR-violative goods. Our enforcement goals can only be accomplished through the cooperative efforts of our trained enforcement officers, other government agencies, and the trade community. We have compiled below a listing of on-line resources that provide detailed information regarding our enforcement procedures and programs. We hope they prove useful and welcome your feedback at hqiprbranch@dhs.gov. For those seeking an overview of CBP IPR enforcement programs, CBP has prepared several publications to provide general IPR guidance and information to the trade community. An overview of the CBP role in IPR enforcement can be found in the publication entitled Protection of Intellectual Property Rights. This publication outlines the scope of our IPR civil administrative enforcement procedures and provides useful information regarding protecting IPR with CBP. The public may also obtain information about the legal bases for CBP enforcement by accessing copies of "CBP IPR Directives". These directives provide detailed information about Trademark and Tradename Protection, Copyright Protection, Exclusion Orders, and the Personal Use Exemption for Trademarks.
