Applying
for OMB Summer Internships
The
application process for OMB's summer internship program
has closed as of March 31, 2004.
Applications submitted after this date will not be considered.
GENERAL: The OMB summer internship program is for graduate-level
students (students currently seeking a Masters degree) in public policy,
public administration, business, information systems, computer science,
economics, law, or a related field. The duration of the assignment varies
depending on each student's schedule, but most internships begin in mid
to late May and end in late August. U.S. Citizenship is required.
PAID
ASSIGNMENTS: OMB usually hires a limited number of summer interns
that are paid under the General Schedule (GS). Interns are also eligible
to receive up to $100 per month through the tranportation subsidy program.
APPLICATION PROCESS: Individuals who are currently enrolled as a
Masters or higher degree-seeking student in an accredited college or university
interested in applying for the summer internship program should e-mail (1)
résumé, (2) writing sample of 1-3 pages (i.e., school paper,
memo, or anything that favorably demonstrates your writing skills), and
(3) copy of graduate and undergraduate transcript (copy may be unofficial)
to OMB_Recruitment@omb.eop.gov.
Interested graduate-level students must be willing and able to travel to
Washington, DC, if selected for interviews (at your own expense). Applications
will not be accepted from undergraduate students.
Do not send
materials via regular mail, as mail from outside sources may not be received
in a timely fashion.
Résumé, writing sample, and general inquiries may also be
sent via FAX at 202-395-0684.
ON-CAMPUS
RECRUITING: OMB visits some graduate schools each year. Check with
the placement director of your school for details.
