HOCKNEY: Currently up and available. * 10/20/2004 08:00-16:00PT - SCHEDULED SYSTEM MAINTENANCE. HOCKNEY will be unavailable during this time due to AIX 5.2 Upgrade. NEWTON: Currently up and available. PDSF: Currently up and available. SEABORG: Currently up and available. * 10/27/2004 16:00-23:59PT, SCHEDULED SYSTEM MAINTENANCE. Seaborg will be unavailable during this time due to software upgrade. * 09/22/2004 01:00PT - Post 9/16 fixes: A number of fixes have been installed for switch and AIX problems that NERSC/IBM have identified on Seaborg. However, several issues remain open and IBM is continuing to work them at the highest priority. GPFS I/O performance: NERSC is seeing some inconsistent and varying I/O bandwidth performance for both reads and writes, from application to application. Some users report improvement while others report decrease in performance. If you have additional performance data comparing AIX 5.1 results (prior to 9/6) to AIX 5.2 (post 9/18). NERSC is especially interested in hearing from you. Please report any observed performance issues to the NERSC consulting staff at consult@nersc.gov as soon as you can. Thank you!
