Pacific Islands Division
Office for Law Enforcement

The newest division within NOAA Fisheries Office for Law Enforcement focuses on the Hawaiian Islands, the Commonwealth of Guam, American Samoa and the Northern Marianas.

Formed from the Southwest Division on April 21st, the PID is the agency's newest division.

Long-line fishing in Hawaii, endangered Hawaiian monk seals, Spinner dolphins, illegal imports from various Asian countries and the protection of delicate coral reefs are just a few of the issues facing the PID.

The PID's area of responsibility covers 9,870 miles of coastline incorporating not only the main inhabited islands but also remote locations such as Wake Island, Howland Island, Baker Island, Jarvis Island, Palmyra Atoll, Johnstons Atoll and Kingman Reef. These marine areas provide habitat to thousands of species of protected marine mammals and managed fish, and four species of endangered sea turtles. The protected mammals include Hawaiian monk seals, Humpback whales, Spinner dolphins.

The Pacific Islands Division (PID) is comprised of Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa and all U.S territories in the Pacific Ocean.
