NOMS
National Occupational Mortality Surveillance
The NOMS system is based on death certificate data from selected states with coded occupation and industry information. Cause of death is coded to the 9th revision of the International Classification of Diseases. Occupation and industry is coded according to the 1980 Bureau of the Census classification system. The source of this data is the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Occupational Mortality Proportionate Mortality Ratio (PMR) Analysis
NIOSH mortality data by Occupation, Industry, and Disease has the results of a proportionate mortality ratio (PMR) analysis of data from the National Occupational Mortality Surveillance (NOMS) system. The PMRs estimate the relative risk of death due to a specific disease within a specific occupational or industrial group. You can acess the data in two ways for occupation and industry selection, occupations and industries are listed alphabetically (NIO1) , and listed according to the 1980 Bureau of the Census classification system (NIO2). Occupational Mortality Counts and Rates of Death
NIOSH mortality data set has counts and rates of death for underlying cause of death for any of the 92 standard groups of causes by a single variable: age (15 ranges), race (white/black/other/ nonwhites), gender, year, state and country of residence, or Group of cause of death.
