Defense Contract Audit Agency

Where You Begin Can Make All the Difference

[agency logo]

The Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) is the premier government contract audit organization in the world. DCAA plays a vital role in national security by ensuring that taxpayer dollars are wisely spent on government contracts. With a diverse workforce employed at over 300 work sites nationwide, and at locations in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, DCAA provides accounting and financial advisory services for contracts and subcontracts to the Department of Defense and to more than 30 non-defense federal agencies.

DCAA has both part-time and full-time employment opportunities for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students. The Student Temporary Education Program (STEP) provides temporary part or full-time employment, particularly during the summer months, to students who are enrolled in or accepted for enrollment in an accredited high school, technical or vocational school, college, or university. Employment under STEP is made for an initial period of one year, does not have to be related to your field of study, and does not require an official work-study agreement between DCAA and your school.

The Student Career Experience Program (SCEP) is a non-temporary appointment that provides you with planned, progressive work experience related to your course of academic study, and requires a formal agreement between your school and DCAA. If you are attending school on at least a half-time basis, you may opt for full-time, part-time, or summer work schedules. Upon successful completion of all SCEP degree and work requirements, you may be eligible for a non-competitive appointment to a permanent position with DCAA.

To find out how to apply for available student employment opportunities, you should contact the DCAA office for the geographic region in which you are interested in working. Locations and contact information for the DCAA regional Human Resources Offices can be found under Student Employment Information in the Career Center section of our web site at www.dcaa.mil.
