U.S. Department of Justice Environment and Natural Resources Division

Help Us Protect America's Natural Resources

U.S. Department of Justice Environment and Natural Resources Division

The Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD), is a component of the Department of Justice. We are responsible for protecting the use and development of America's natural resources and public lands by bringing charges against companies that violate environmental protection laws. We work closely with the Environmental Protection Agency to ensure that hazardous waste sites are cleaned up. We also represent the government when it needs to purchase private property for government use. With over 700 employees in Washington, D.C., Anchorage, Denver, Sacramento, San Francisco and Seattle, we are the nation's environmental lawyer, and the largest environmental law firm in the country.
