U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer

Experience a Senate Office Firsthand

United States Senator Barbara Boxer's San Francisco office is seeking mature, motivated and enthusiastic individuals to participate in our ongoing internship program. Positions are available to college Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, and recent graduates.

Although internships are unpaid, interns will gain considerable experience and insight into the workings of a Senator's office, while providing valuable support to Senate staff. Responsibilities include responding to constituent letters, telephone reception, research, outreach, and special projects.

Applicants should possess strong writing skills, some knowledge of the political process and an awareness of current events. Interns typically commit about 15 hours per week (preferably two full working days) for a period of twenty weeks.
