U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao today announced a newly updated Women-21.gov website that is more user-friendly and offers women entrepreneurs additional online resources to help them succeed in the global marketplace.
“This Administration is committed to promoting programs and policies that help women entrepreneurs become successful,” said Chao. “Women-21.gov has been enhanced to help women entrepreneurs navigate and access valuable information in the ever-changing business world so they can have the resources they need to become successful, create jobs and opportunity for their workers, and contribute to the economic strength of their communities and our country.”
Today, there are 6.2 million women-owned firms employing 9.2 million people and generating sales of $1.15 trillion. Women-21.gov is a one-stop Internet resource designed for women business owners with news and information from the Labor Department, other federal agencies and nearly two-dozen partner organizations. Among the various online services available, users can register for events put on by partner groups and network with other women entrepreneurs nationwide.
The site features a new layout and search function. New technology aids partner organizations by making it easier to post events, news and important business information from any Internet-connected computer.
