Student Summer and Internship Employment Opportunities |
The Center for Information Technology (CIT), the main computing center of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), is seeking highly motivated and talented students for internships and summer employment. Positions are part time with flexible hours and can be full time during the summer.
The CIT provides computing and networking services, technical advice and collaboration in the computational sciences in support of NIH research and administrative programs and also provides computing services for other federal agencies.
Applicants should have excellent communications skills, the ability to write well, familiarity with the PC and word processing software, and enthusiasm for learning and working in a leading edge IT environment.
Each of these positions have flexible hours designed to meet your needs and internships include a comprehensive benefits package. The Federal Employees Health Benefits are pro-rated for part time employees. Many successful interns are hired as permanent staff at the conclusion of the internship and summer students may have the possibility to return next summer or work on an intermittent basis.Students applying for internships should be pursuing BS/BA or Masters degrees with course work including computer science, information systems, engineering, statistics or related disciplines. There are no educational requirements for summer positions (high school students are eligible).
