Soldiers visit schools in Ad Duluiyah
Ad Duluiyah,
Iraq- Soldiers from 1st
Squadron, 4th U.S. Cavalry
Regiment visited two schools in Ad
Duluiyah on Oct. 11. The soldiers
visited the schools as part of an
improvement and renovation project.
They have suffered from long-term
neglect, and require a great deal of
repair.
Soldiers hold medical screening and
donate supplies at school
Maftul,
Iraq- Elements of Task Force 1-120
conducted medical screenings and
distributed school supplies at Maftu
Primary School on Oct. 9. More than 380
students were screened and each student
was provided school supplies. Members
of the Iraqi National Guard and Iraqi
Police also assisted in the operation.
Soldiers conducting humanitarian
missions

Iraq- Soldiers from 2nd
Battalion, 108th Infantry
Regiment handed out shoes, sports
equipment and school supplies to local
families in Ad Dujayl on Oct. 6. All of
the donations were greatly received and
appreciated by the families.
Iraqi Government invests in future of Samarra
Samarra,
Iraq- Iraqs Interim Government
announced on Oct. 10 it will invest $25
million to implement short and long term
projects in Samarra. Dr. Mazin Samarrai,
special envoy for the Iraqi Prime
Minister, is coordinating to national,
provincial and local levels of
government to ensure new projects are
synchronized.
Iraqi Police Officer single
handedly-battles insurgents
Baqubah,
Iraq- Iraqi Police Service Criminal
Investigator Yassir Ali Shiniar Saeed
fought off several insurgents in Baqubah
on Oct. 11. Yassir wounded one
insurgent before phoning the Diyala
Police Station, leading to the
apprehension of two of the remaining
insurgents.
Kirkuk Police break up kidnapping ring
Kirkuk,
Iraq- Iraqi Police Service members
captured 7 suspected kidnappers in
Kirkuk on Oct. 12. The kidnappers were
detained after IPS members detained a
suspected kidnapper and learned location
of their hideout by using field
interrogation techniques.
Kirkuk Governorate conducts weekly
council meeting
Kirkuk,
Iraq- The Kirkuk Governorate conducted
its weekly council meeting at the Kirkuk
Government Building on Oct. 11. The
Kirkuk Provincial Council is a
functional government body and is taking
action to lead the province into a
prosperous future. It is made up of
Arabic, Turcoman, Kurdish and Assyrian
members.

9. The training was to prepare the ING
members for live fire training in
November. ING in Kirkuk are steadily
improving their tactical expertise.

Division commander, held a press
interview on Forward Operating Base
Warrior on Oct. 11. The press
conference was to discuss various issues
affecting the Kirkuk Province.
