Searches
• Subject analysts perform online searches of DTIC's
databases and produce bibliographies or management summary reports
on demand. In addition, should you require a commercial database
search, DTIC® has the expertise to assist you. DTIC
offers searches in the following commercial databases: Dialog, Lexis-Nexis,
Legi-Slate and Orbit.
Telecommunication
Help Desk
• The Technical Control Facility (TCF), a branch of
DTIC's Telecommunications Division, maintains the Telecommunications
Help Desk. The TCF staff provide procedural and operational assistance,
including help in DROLS dedicated and dial-up systems and the Internet.
Ask a Librarian
• QuestionPoint, the Cooperative Virtual Reference
service, was developed by OCLC and the U.S. Library of Congress
and is supported by institutions worldwide.
• Questions submitted by patrons via this Web-based
digital reference service may be referred to the Global Network
or to the consortium of DoD libraries for a response.
• This digital, collaborative reference service is
available 24/7 (24 hours per day, 7 days per week) and allows libraries
and information centers to expand reference services with shared
resources and subject specialists around the world.
• DTIC is a participating member of the following
QuestionPoint cooperatives: 1) Global Reference Network, a worldwide
group of libraries and institutions committed to digital reference,
and 2) DDLRS - Defense Digital Library Research Service, a 24/7
electronic reference for Department of Defense libraries.
