Visitor Services

Visitor and Information Services (VIS) arranges technical visits and tours, manages meetings and conferences, coordinates media interviews and photos, and distributes atmospheric information. From boy scouts to congressmen, from National Weather Service conferences to teacher in-service meetings, FSL welcomes all visitors and information sharing.

Tours

Tours are currently being offered weekly on Thursday mornings 10:00am - 11:30. These tours are limited to 20 people and can be scheduled up to two months in advance. The tours include an FSL overview, a meteorological presentation, and conclude with the daily weather briefing.

Request Materials

FSL has a wide variety of information on weather-related phenomena. Information includes videos and written and audio visual materials.

Security

Procedure for Visitors Entering the Site:

  • All visitors (including NOAA) are required to sign in and get a visitors badge at the Visitors Center Vehicle Checkpoint per Homeland Security requirements.
  • All visitors will be required to park next to the Vehicle Checkpoint and enter the Center to be screened and badged. They will then proceed to the building they are visiting.
  • A drop box is installed near the front, east side of Bldg. 1 (NIST) in order for visitors to drop their passes into the box as they are leaving the site. These are our requirements regardless of security threat level. If you have any questions, please contact Keith Turbitt at 303-497-4332.
