Risk-Based Capital Model for Bankers Version 1.06

This model is meant to help bankers complete call report Schedule RC-R. It uses information provided on call report schedules and additional items not on call reports that impact the risk based capital calculation. The model provides reports displaying Schedule RC-R amounts and capital limitations. This version of the model incorporates changes to the March 31, 2004 call reports.

You may send questions or comments about this application or the risk-based capital regulation via e-mail to http://www.occ.treas.gov/mail1.htm.

Questions or comments about the application may also be sent to:

    250 E St., SW
    Washington, DC 20219
    (202) 874-6171 or (314) 436-3078

Questions about the Risk-based Capital regulation should be addressed to:

    Amrit Sekhon, Risk Expert

Because the worksheet cannot address all situations that may arise in calculating regulatory capital items and ratios, the provisions of the capital standard issued by a bank's primary federal supervisory authority take precedence over the worksheet. A bank's regulatory capital calculations are subject to examiner review, regardless of whether this optional worksheet or the bank's own method of calculation is used.

    Download the program

To download for just your machine or for distribution over your network - use the single-file version. (Note:  The file size is approximately 2 megabytes.)

    1. Download one compressed file (RBC.EXE) to your hard drive.
    2. Execute RBC.EXE to begin the installation program.
    3. Execute C:\RBCINSTALL\SETUP.EXE
    4. To conserve disk space, delete the RBCINSTALL folder (directory) after you have successfully installed the program.

To create diskettes that you can use to install the program elsewhere - download our two-file version and follow the instructions below:

    1. Download two self-extracting zipped files (RBCDISK1.EXE and RBCDISK2.EXE.) to your hard drive.  (Note:  RBCDISK1. EXE is approximately 1.1 megabytes and RBCDISK2.EXE is approximately 956 kilobytes)
    2. Label two blank 3-1/2" high density diskettes RBCDISK1 and RBCDISK2.
    3. Unzip the files to diskettes:
      1. Unzip RBCDISK1.EXE by doing the following:
        1. Place the diskette labeled RBCDISK1 in the disk drive.
        2. Execute the downloaded file RBCDISK1.EXE.
        3. WinZip Self-Extractor program will inform you that it will unzip the file into A:\. (If you are using a different drive than A:, then change A:\ to the appropriate drive letter.)
        4. Click the UNZIP button.
        5. Click the CLOSE button.
      2. Unzip RBCDISK2.EXE by doing the following:
        1. Place the diskette labeled RBCDISK2 in the disk drive.
        2. Execute the downloaded file RBCDISK2.EXE.
        3. WinZip Self-Extractor program will inform you that it will unzip the file into A:\. (If you are using a different drive than A:, then change A:\ to the appropriate drive letter.)
        4. Click the UNZIP button.
        5. Click the CLOSE button.

At this point, you will have two diskettes that you can take to any PC on which you want to load the RBC program. To install the program from these diskettes, do the following:

    1. Install the program
      1. Insert the diskette labeled RBCDISK1 in the appropriate drive of the machine on which you want to install the program.
      2. Execute SETUP.EXE.
      3. Follow the prompts. (You will be asked to insert the other two disks when needed.)
    2. To save space, if desired, you can delete RBCDISK1.EXE and RBCDISK2.EXE from the PC where you originally downloaded them.
