Minimum Data Set (MDS) 3.0

The purpose of this site is to store and disseminate technical information related to the development of the Long Term Care Resident Assessment Instrument, including Version 3.0 of the MDS (Minimum Data Set), Resident Assessment Protocols (RAPs), and Utilization Guidelines. The information posted here is intended to assist nursing homes, State agencies, software vendors, professional associations and other Federal agencies in the activities underway to refine and evaluate the MDS.

This site will naturally expand as we move from developmental work to implementation and maintenance of the instrument together with the nursing home community to determine the type and extent of information needed. Please check these pages frequently for additional menu items (below).
