What is suitable for the Technical Reports Database?DTIC's role within the DoD is changing. Its customer base has been expanded beyond the RDT&E; community, and DTIC now supports the entire DoD Acquisition Program. As a result, DTIC® has expanded the subject and scope of its collection to include not only scientific and technical documents but also acquisition and budget related documents. Please review the DTIC Selection Criteria for information on the types and scopes of documents that are appropriate for the Technical Reports database. Security classifications: DTIC only accepts the following security classifications: Unclassified, Foreign Unclassified in Confidence, Foreign Restricted, Confidential, Secret. The DTIC collection does NOT include Top Secret, Cryptographic & Communications Security, and Communications & Electronic Intelligence documents. DoD Directive 3200.12, DoD Scientific and Technical Information Program, also excludes the DTIC collection of information relating to command and control of operations and operational forces, DoD scientific and technical intelligence production community products, and the DoD Technical Data Management Program. Distribution Statements: Distribution Statements provide the framework for DoD personnel to meet their responsibilities for managing, disseminating, and when necessary, restricting the flow of information and data resulting from their work. DoD Directive 5230.24, Distribution Statements on Technical Documents states that all documents sent to DTIC must be assigned a distribution statement by the contributor.
