Acquisition Awards

This section will give the current status on the Acquisition Awards that are coordinated by DASN(ACQ). These awards include:

1. David Packard Excellence in Acquisition Award

The Department of Navy nominations that were forwarded to OSD for the Packard Award are:

  • SPAWARSYSCOM, The Ships Signal Exploration Equipment, Increment E Team (SSEE-E)
  • NAVAIRSYSCOM, EA-18G Team
  • NAVSEASYSCOM, AN/UYQ-70 (V) Advanced Display System Team
  • NAVAIRSYSCOM, Tomahawk All Up Round Office
  • NAVSEASYSCOM, Smart Carrier Program

The winners of the Packard Award will be announced in the Fall.

2. The Competition and Procurement Excellence Awards

The winners of the FY 2003 Department of Navy Competition and Procurement Excellence Awards have been announced. The winners are:

Individual Award

  • Mr. Charles F. Splawn, NAVICP Long Term Contracting Reverse Auction Event

Team Awards

  • Reconfigurable Transportable Consolidated Automated Support System (RTCASS)
  • T-45 Aircraft and Engine Contractor Logistics Support Team
  • X-Engineering Processes for Ship Repair Requirements
  • Innovation of Technical Data Packages at at Raytheon Missile Systems: The Supply ChainTechnologies for Affordable Manufactured Product (STAMP) Project
  • AIM-9M/AIM-9X Replacement-In-Kind Exchange (REIK)

The Competition and Procurement Excellence Awards will be presented during a ceremony on July 23, 2004.

3. USD(AT&L) Award for Learning and Development Excellence

USD(AT&L) seeks to recognize those organizations that are promoting USD(AT&L) Goal 7- "Motivated, Agile Workforce" by achieving excellence in learning and development for their employees. Additionally, the award program will identify best practices for other USD(AT&L) organizations to adopt.

Applications will be evaluated for their scope and innovation of the organizational approach, to include mentoring, continuous learning, career counseling, job rotation and shadowing, executive coaching, leadership development, and succession planning.

Award submissions are due July 30, 2004.
