USGS scientist Dr. Allen M. Shapiro has been selected by the National Ground Water Association as their 2004 Henry Darcy Distinguished Lecturer. Dr. Shapiro will speak on “Recent Advances in Characterizing Ground-Water Flow and Chemical Transport in Fractured Rock–From Cores to Kilometers.” Dr. Shapiro will present findings from his research at Toxics Program’s fractured rock research sites ( Mirror Lake, NH, and Navel Air Warfare Center, NJ ).
