Ninth Symposium on the Chemistry and Fate of Modern Pesticides
The International Association of Environmental Analytical Chemistry, the U.S. Geological Survey’s Toxic Substances Hydrology Program, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service are co-sponsoring the “Ninth Symposium on the Chemistry and Fate of Modern Pesticides” in Vail, Colorado, August 16–19, 2004. The symposium will present a wide array of information on the fate and effects of pesticides in the environment. Topics such as endocrine disruption and pesticide sinks in the environment will be discussed. Environmental chemists, analytical chemists, toxicologists, and biologists are expected to engage in interdisciplinary discussions about relevant scientific problems.
Symposium Topics
- Ecotoxicology and endocrine disruption
- Implementation and assessment of management practices to improve water quality
- Impact of transgenic crop production on pesticide usage:
- Implications for fate and transport of pesticides
- Pesticide fate in vegetable and horticultural production
