Advisory Panel on Ambulatory Payment Classification Groups (APC)
The APC Panel reviews and advises the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) about the clinical integrity of the APCs and their weights.
The advice provided by the APC Panel will be considered as CMS prepares annual Notices of Proposed Rulemaking that will propose changes to the outpatient prospective payment system. Members of the APC Panel are technical experts who are able to provide information and insight into the APCs.
