Austin City Limits

The television series Austin City Limits showcases an array of American music including blues, bluegrass, rock, folk, country, Latin, traditional, and contemporary. Produced by KLRU-TV in Austin, Texas and broadcast on PBS nationwide, the program is unique for its commitment to presenting both established and diverse emerging artists and for its stylistically seamless format. Over the course of its 30-year history, the series has produced more than 400 shows featuring over 1,000 artists including Ray Charles, Bill Monroe, Lionel Hampton, Johnny Cash, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Norah Jones. In 1998, Austin City Limits won a W.C. Handy "Keeping the Blues Alive Award" for Visual Broadcast presented by the Blues Foundation.
