Who
We Are: The Farm Service
Agency is part of the United States Department of Agriculture.
The Secretary of Agriculture is Ann M. Veneman.
Our
mission is to help improve and promote the economic
stability of agricultural communities through a variety of programs which include price support payments, loans and
conservation incentives. In addition, we help farmers recover from
natural disasters such as drought, fire and flooding.
How
what we do benefits you: The
programs we offer help to assure that family size farms and ranches
continue to operate across this nation, and that all Americans have
access to a safe, affordable
and abundant food supply. The next time you take a child to the
grocery store or supermarket, ask him/her where the food you are
buying comes from.
And
it's not just meat, fruits and vegetables: Our
programs also help floral producers, dairy producers, fish farmers,
tree farms, grape growers, and other specialty
crops.
FSA
Kids
website: We
have stocked our kid friendly website with lots of games, activities
and information about food and agriculture. We hope that spending time
here will not only be fun but educational as well.
