Operation Provide Refuge. This was an effort to airlift as many as 20,000 Kosovo refugees to safety in the United States until it was safe to return to their homes. The refugees arrived at the Ft. Dix army base in New Jersey, where they stayed for about three weeks to complete legal processing before being placed with host families around the country.

Operation Allied Harbor/Joint Task Force Shining Hope. Joint Task Force (JTF) Shining Hope was established by the United States European Command on April 4, 1999, to help alleviate the suffering and provide immediate relief to more than 450,000 Kosovar refugees fleeing into Albania and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Never before had the U.S. military accepted such a massive humanitarian responsibility. During its first 50 days of operation, JTF Shining Hope delivered more than 3,400 tons of food, equipment, and medical supplies to those in need.

Operation Allied Force. Operation Allied Force began on March 24 when United States military forces, acting with our NATO allies, commenced air strikes against Serbian military targets in the Former Yugoslavia. For 78 days, from March to June 1999, the United States and its NATO allies engaged in a military operation to bring an end to Serbian atrocities in Kosovo.

Operation Eagle Eye. Forces from the United States European Command participated in, and directly supported, Operation Eagle Eye, the NATO Kosovo Verification Mission from November, 1998 through March 23, 1999.

Task Force Sabre. TFAS was the U.S. Army's task force attached to the United Nations Preventive Deployment Force in the Former Yugoslavia Republic of Macedonia.

U.S. Air Forces Kosovo. The U.S. Air Forces Kosovo provided support to various operations in the Balkans to include Provide Promise, Deliberate Force, Joint Endeavor and Joint Forge.

United Kingdom Kosovo Homepage.
