The Health Resources and Services Administration
(HRSA) today announced the award of 45 grants totaling nearly $35 million
for renovation and operational improvements to health care facilities
in 19 states.
The grants will be used to improve the delivery
of quality health care and supportive services in a variety of facilities
around the country, including hospitals, university medical centers,
county and local clinics, foundations and research centers. The
funds will support a variety of projects, including the renovation of
a community-based primary care center; the construction of a dental
clinic, cancer-care facility and outpatient physical rehabilitation
center; improvement of emergency department services; the purchase and
upgrading of equipment; and purchase of a mobile medical van.
Funding is provided under the “Health Care and
Other Facilities” program administered by HRSA, an agency of the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services.
