Eight
physicians in the Commonwealth Fund/Harvard University Fellowship
in Minority Health Policy will visit Washington, D.C., the week
of March 25-29 to meet with top officials and learn about program,
policy and research activities at the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services.
For the past seven years, the Health Resources
and Services Administration's Bureau of Primary Health Care
has played a major role in this program by planning and coordinating
the activities of the Fellows' Week in Washington.
Other participating HHS agencies include the Centers
for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Food and Drug Administration,
the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality, the Substance
Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Office
on Minority Health and the Office on Women's Health.
"Bringing
these future leaders to Washington for a first-hand view of
the major issues facing our nation’s minority and disadvantaged
communities underscores the Department's commitment to expanding
access to needed health care for all Americans," said HRSA
Administrator Elizabeth M. Duke, Ph.D.
