Operating and Support Cost Analysis - DAU Course BCF 215 Type: OTHER The course provides students the concepts and methodologies needed to develop operating and support (O&S) cost estimates used in support of weapon systems life cycle cost estimates, total ownership cost reduction studies, CAIV management processes, and other management decisions where O&S costs are relevant. The course is based on the five primary steps in the cost estimating process: 1) Definition and Planning; 2) Data Collection; 3) Estimate Formation; 4) Review and Presentation; and 5) Final Documentation. The course also presents an introduction to reliability, availability, and maintainability concepts, risk and sensitivity analysis, and basic economic analysis. Practical exercises, a team project, and case studies allow the student to apply concepts taught in class.
