Requirements Generation System Training

Requirements Generation System Training
This Requirements Generation System web-based tutorial illustrates the DoD's Requirements Generation System and how it interfaces with the Acquisition Management System. The tutorial is a teaching tool based primarily on two policy documents, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Instruction 3170.01A (August 10 1999), and the newly-reissued DoD 5000-series (October 23, 2000). The tutorial is not intended to replace either policy document. Rather, it outlines and illustrates the basic processes, documents, concepts, and responsibilities contained in the official policy. The basic tutorial also serves as a framework for several additional training modules, which have been linked to it. These additional modules provide instruction in such important topics as a process to draft Key Performance Parameters for Operational Requirements Documents, conduct and document market research, and conduct tradeoff analyses while considering cost as an independent variable.
