Congress May Act on IDEA
AOTA is continuing to work daily to promote support for occupational therapy, children, and families in the reauthorization of the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act. The "lame duck" Congress, back in town for only a few days, may act on this long-awaited bill as early as Wednesday.

AOTA Advocates RA Policy on Direct Access to MedPAC
The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) has issued a draft report which concluded that there is no reason to change the policy on physician referrals. AOTA has affirmed that the Medicare policy on direct access should apply equally to all of the rehabilitation therapies.
