Lieutenant General Tom Goslin is Deputy Commander, United States Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. He is the principal adviser to the Commander and assists in the performance of his duties and responsibilities. In the absence of the Commander, he acts in his stead on matters affecting the command. He also directs and coordinates the activities of the staff. The general also serves as Commander, Joint Force Headquarters-Information Operations. The organization provides USSTRATCOM with an integrated, coordinated Information Operations process to support its mission objectives.
The general was commissioned through Officer Training School in 1970. He has served as commander of the Space Warfare Center at Schriever Air Force Base, Colo., as director of operations for U.S. Space Command at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., as the Air Force's deputy programmer at the Pentagon, and as wing commander of the 509th Bomb Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. The general has commanded the 351st Combat Support Group, 5th Operations Group, and has been assigned to the 5th Bomb Wing as vice commander. His operational experience includes bombers, the B-2 and B-52; fighters, the A-7 and F-117; tankers; and combat time in Southeast Asia as a forward air controller. His assignments include Columbus Air Force Base, Miss.; Tan Son Nhut Air Base, South Vietnam; Barksdale Air Force Base, La.; Pentagon, Washington, D.C.; Armed Forces Staff College, Norfolk, Va.; Holloman Air Force Base, N.M.; Air National Guard, Tucson, Ariz.; Nellis Air Force Base, Nev.; Kingston, Ontario, Canada; Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo.; Mons, Belgium; Minot Air Force Base, N.D.; Langley Air Force Base, Va.; Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.; Schriever Air Force Base, Colo., and Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.The general is a command pilot with more than 4,300 flying hours, including 635 combat hours. Aircraft flown: O-2A, KC-135A, B-52G/H, T/AT-38A/B, A-7D, F-117A and B-2A.
His major awards and decorations include: Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, Distinguished Flying Cross with oak leaf cluster, Air Medal with seven oak leaf clusters, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm.
