ICE FUGITIVE OPERATIONS OFFICERS, U.S. MARSHALS ARREST FATHER, SON ACCUSED OF RACKETEERING
Sunny Isles criminal duo were previously arrested for insurance fraud

MIAMI—U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) fugitive operations officers and U.S. Marshals have tracked down and arrested criminal fugitives Paul Rabinovic Fraynd and his son Marcos Fraynd, who both fled after being arrested on racketeering and conspiracy charges.

Paul Fraynd is a Colombian national who is now a naturalized United States citizen and Marcos Fraynd is a Colombian national.

The Florida Division of Financial Services asked for the assistance in arresting the two.

"The arrest of Paul Fraynd and Marcos Fraynd is another example of the hard work that the men and women of ICE are doing daily to ensure that our communities are safe," said Field Office Director Mike Rozos of the Miami Detention and Removal Field Office. "We will continue to identify, arrest and remove these criminal aliens from our communities."

Both Fraynds are facing criminal state charges for racketeering and conspiracy to commit racketeering for their alleged roles in committing insurance fraud. Marcos Fraynd is charged with three counts of first-degree grand theft, Paul Fraynd is charged with four counts of grand theft.

The Fraynd’s were owners of the Aries Insurance Company, where they wrote personal and commercial auto and property insurance coverage. They also wrote policies for workers’ compensation coverage. In all, they represented about 70,000 policyholders when their company was placed into receivership by the State of Florida.

Bond for the two men was set at $1 million each. They are both being held at the Miami Dade County Jail.

A primary ICE Office of Detention and Removals goal is reducing the number of alien absconders that are hiding in the United States. Absconders are foreign nationals who have been ordered removed by a federal immigration judge, but failed to comply with those orders. Since these absconders have already been through immigration proceedings, they are subject to immediate removal from the country.
