Health Information for Travelers to Australia and the South Pacific. The Centers for Disease Control provide information on diseases in the area, as well as recommended vaccinations.

Malaria Risk. Malaria is a serious disease transmitted to humans by the bite of an infected female Anopheles mosquito. In this region malaria can only be found in Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu.

Recent Outbreaks - Australia. Australian Health Services have reported increased levels of activity of Murray Valley encephalitis (MVE). MVE is a potentially fatal mosquito-borne, viral disease that is spread by the bite of an infected mosquito. To date only two cases have been reported.

Travel Warnings. The State Department issues travel warnings to specific countries based on all relevant information, in order to recommend that Americans avoid travel to a certain country.

Foreign Entry Requirements. The State Department provides a listing of the foreign entry requirements for every country. This includes information on passports, visas, immunizations, HIV testing, and any fees that may be required.
