Health Information for Visitors to the Indian Subcontinent. The Centers for Disease Control provide information on diseases in the area, as well as recommended vaccinations.

Malaria Risk. Malaria is a serious disease transmitted to humans by the bite of an infected female Anopheles mosquito and is prevalent in this area. This link provides specific risk areas by country.

Recent Outbreaks – Bangladesh. Between July 30 and August 11, 2000, the CDC received three reports from physicians in the United States of cases of dengue fever and dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF)/dengue shock syndrome (DSS) among travelers returning from Bangladesh.

Travel Warnings. The State Department issues travel warnings to specific countries based on all relevant information, in order to recommend that Americans avoid travel to a certain country.

Foreign Entry Requirements. The State Department provides a listing of the foreign entry requirements for every country. This includes information on passports, visas, immunizations, HIV testing, and any fees that may be required.
