    Bank Examiner Cooperative Education Program

Are you a junior or senior in college or a graduate student pursuing a business-related major?
Are you interested in pursuing a career in the banking field?
Would you like to gain valuable work experience while continuing your education?
Would you like to earn a salary and benefits while still learning?

If so, you should consider applying for a Bank Examiner Intern position at the OCC. These positions are available nationwide and are a great way to learn about the OCC and the financial services industry.

Bank Examiner Interns participate in on-the-job and formal training to learn basic procedures and practices used in the examination and supervision of national banks. Working closely with highly skilled bank examiners, interns perform selected bank supervisory tasks such as reconciling general ledger accounts, tracing funds through the bank, and assessing compliance with banking laws and regulations.

Bank Examiner Interns gain practical "real life" work experience performing challenging and rewarding assignments designed to prepare them for careers as National Bank Examiners. Interns who complete at least 640 hours of work experience with the OCC prior to, or concurrent with, completion of their academic requirements, may be converted to permanent employment within 120 days of completing course requirements.

Bank Examiner Interns work in many settings, including OCC offices and banks. These positions involve overnight travel.

Bank Examiner Interns may alternate between periods of full-time work and full-time school, or choose to work a full-time or part-time schedule while attending school on a full or half-time basis.

Bank Examiner Intern positions are filled through the OCC's Cooperative Education Program. To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements:
Undergraduate students must be enrolled in their junior or senior year in an accredited four-year college or university on at least a half-time basis majoring in a business-related field of study.
Graduate-level students must be enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, in an accredited university, graduate, or professional school on at least a half-time basis majoring in a business-related field of study. Graduate students need not have an undergraduate degree in a business-related major to be eligible.
Maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (unless your school requires a higher GPA for participation in its cooperative Education Program).

To apply, send your resume or federal application form OF-612 or SF-171, transcripts, and cover letter to the district Human Resources office of your choice. To find out more about Bank Examiner Intern positions in your area, call the Human Resources office in your chosen location:
